Japanese Beef Don

Ingredients

onion (sliced)

Japanese soy sauce
4 tablespoons
Japanese cooking wine
4 tablespoons
mirin
1 teaspoon
sugar
Steps
Start by brining 3 cups of water to a boil
Once it’s boiling, turn the heat off, pour in a cup of cold water to the pot. Immediately put in an egg. Close the lid and let cook for 15 minutes
Prepare the sauce in advance
In a heated pan with oil, saute the onions in medium heat until softens
Then pour in the prepared sauce
Then add in the beef slices on the onions
Let simmer for 3 minutes in medium heat until cooked
In a bowl with rice, first assemble the onions around the rice
Then layer with the beef slices
The egg should be done by now, rinse and submerge in cold water
Then gently crack the egg to the middle of the meat
