Simple Homemade Barbecued Pork

Char siu is a Hong Kong barbecue flavor. When I was a child, I would cut the old char siu every night to add dishes. Unexpectedly, in recent years, every household has made their own char siu. The recipes vary, but it is still a hometown delicacy. This time, this dish of char siu uses pork belly, full of oil fragrance, plus char siu sauce, seafood sauce sweetness, although not as delicious as restaurants, but fresh and hot, also quite popular with children.
Ingredients
- 500 gram Pork Belly

- 30 gram Honey
-
-
- 3 piece Onion (chopped)

- 0.5 Garlic (cut into large pieces)

- 3 Shallots (chopped into large pieces)

- 1 spoon Chu Hou Sauce

- 2 spoon Hoisin Sauce

- 1 spoon Barbecued pork sauce

- 1 spoon Rose wine

- 1 spoon Soy Sauce
- 1 Soup Old soy sauce
- 2 teaspoon Sugar
Steps
- Chop the onions, garlic and shallots in the marinade and place in a bowl for later use.

- Add remaining marinade ingredients to a bowl and mix well.

- Wash and dry the pork belly, then put it into a sealed bag.

- Add onions, garlic, shallots and marinade to the ziplock bag.

- Seal the airtight bag and rub it evenly with your hands so that the pork belly is evenly coated with marinade.

- After rubbing, put the entire airtight bag into the refrigerator and marinate for 3-4 hours, or one or two days if you have time.
- Take the pork belly out of the refrigerator and place it in the air fryer.

- Bake at 160 degrees for 8 minutes.
- Pour the marinade in the sealed bag into a bowl and set aside.

- After baking the pork belly for eight minutes, turn it over and bake the other side at 160 degrees for another 8 minutes.

- After eight minutes, open the pot and brush the marinade on the pork belly. Bake at 160 degrees for another 4 minutes.

- Use a food thermometer to test whether the pork belly is cooked. If the meat is almost cooked, brush the pork belly with honey and bake at 180 degrees for 4 minutes. Honey can color the barbecued pork, but be careful with the fire to avoid it from burning.

- Place the barbecued pork on a plate and let it cool slightly.

- Cut the barbecued pork into small pieces and it’s done.
