Tornado Omurice

Tornado Omurice is a show-stopping rice bowl topped with a dramatic “tornado” omelette—soft eggs whisked with milk, cooked into rippling folds, then laid over savory fried rice. The rice is stir-fried with cubed steak, cabbage (or your veg of choice), XO chilli sauce, soy sauce, and dark soy sauce for a bold, umami kick, finished with green onions for a fresh lift.

- Start by chopping the veg into relatively small pieces. Wash and drain

- Also have the steak cubed

- In a heated pan with a bit of oil, fry the vegetables until all water evaporates and dry. Reserve for later

- In the same pan, fry the cubed steak until cooked

- Add in rice, XO chilli sauce, soy sauce and dark soy sauce. Keep stir frying

- Add in the vegetables and mix well

- Once done, mould the fried rice in a bowl and place on a serving plate for later

- Add milk into the two eggs and whisk together

- In a medium heated pan with oil, pour in the egg, leave for a few seconds before moving

- Then you need to carefully push the egg from the edge to the centre and repeat

- Repeat with patient until the tornado egg is 95% cooked

- Slowly and carefully transfer onto the fried rice and garnish with green onions. That’s it! Serve and enjoy!
