Fragrant glutinous rice steamed pork ribs


The fragrant steamed glutinous rice spareribs are here! The spareribs are marinated with five-spice powder and wrapped with chewy glutinous rice. Once they are steamed, the whole house is filled with the aroma of meat and rice~ (I have personally tested this combination and it is YYDs! 🤤) Every time I make it, my family will rush to eat it. It is a real table turner. It is so fragrant that I even want to lick the plate clean~

- Wash the ribs, drain and set aside.

- Marinate the ribs: Add light soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, salt, cooking wine and five-spice powder and mix well.

- Add shredded ginger and garlic, mix well, and marinate for more than 2 hours. I usually marinate it the night before and put it in the refrigerator for better flavor.

- Soak glutinous rice in clean water for more than 6 hours.

- Marinated glutinous rice: Wash and drain, add 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce and marinate for a few minutes.

- Put the spareribs in the marinated glutinous rice, wrap them with glutinous rice, and pinch them with your hands to make the glutinous rice and spareribs stick more tightly.

- Steamed glutinous rice ribs: After the water boils, steam over medium heat for 45 minutes (remember to add boiling water every 15 minutes or so, don't let the water run dry). I usually use a pressure cooker for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions or coriander for garnish, and it will immediately look good (you don't need to add chopped green onions if you don't like them).
