Ingredients
100 g
purple yam (紫山藥)
100 g
yam
100 g
potato
15 g
milk
20 g
condensed milk
Desiccated coconut
Homemade Osmanthus honey (for drizzle)
Steps
Start by steaming purple yam, yam and potato after peeling their skins
Let steam for 15 minutes
Once steamed thoroughly, mash the purple yam with a fork and add in some milk while hot
Likewise, mash the yam and potato
Add in 10 g of condensed milk to yam and potato respectively
Once all the purées are done. Roll a small dough from each of the bowl and stick them together as shown
Coat it with desiccated coconut
And place it into a mooncake mould
Gently press onto a plate to form a mooncake
Glaze the mooncake with homemade Osmanthus honey for extra flavour and aroma
Once done, enjoy this as a Chinese New Year dessert to celebrate the year of horse!
